Mostly it was rain and wind and wondering how much worse it'll get, like it usually is. I didn't lose power, but I did have to wake up in the middle of the night to drag my futon frame into the middle of the bedroom, because they haven't fixed that roof leak yet. Other than that, though, not so bad. A couple of lakes around town flooded, some tree branches down. Right now I'm watching the other shore of Lake Orienta, where a variety of birds are sunning themselves, ducks and long-leggedy white birds and that gray pterodactyl that skims across the water sometimes. Really, the birds were never worried. In the middle of the worst of it, when the rain was falling sideways and I was thinking I maybe should have brought the plants in so they didn't turn into missiles, I saw a duck swimming across the lake like a little daredevil. He seemed to be enjoying himself, stayed out there for a long time.
BTW, in the story I'm writing, JC's hair is long and tangled. Frankly, I don't think he washes it very often.
P.S. The nursing recruiter from St Vincent's in Santa Fe called me. She wants to have my babies. *sigh*
