1) leave enough time to read through twice
2) have enough privacy for displays of strong emotion
I just got done reading, and I'm... well, I don't know what I am. It's like there's a big bubble of light in my chest and the only way I can deal with it is by crying, but I'm not sad, exactly, but deeply grateful and awed and amazed, because this story convinces me that love is real and strong and sometimes the world works out exactly the way it should.
The structure is perfect. Alternating between Chris's memories and his life now shows how he can't get JC out of his mind. The memories are as present to him as his present is, and it's not hard to understand how wrapped up in JC he is whenever they're together.
The writing flows like a dream. The characterizations, I kiss my fingers. The setting is entirely plausible. Allow me to fangirl for a minute, y'all: Amber's the best. That is all.
